| The Dude abides! In this off-beat parody of film noir from the Coen brothers, Jeff Bridges plays “Dude” Lebowski, a laid-back slacker with a penchant for bowling and joint-smoking, who is mistaken for a millionaire – also named Lebowski – and who becomes unwillingly implicated in an absurd plot involving kidnapping, extortion, and a shadowy group of techno-nihilists, all while he seeks restitution for a ruined rug.
